“We’re doing it again…” Yes, it’s true. The Indiana Region has cemented their position as the region hosting the most Grand National type events in CLC history. We will host the Grand National for 2019 in Louisville KY from June 11-15, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza hotel…that’s meet number 5 for those of you keeping track! 

The host hotel – the Crowne Plaza is about as close as you can get to the Louisville International Airport – there’s event a hotel shuttle for your convenience.

Meet coordinators Beth & Bill Reedy have scheduled a fantastic array of events that will leave you glad for a chance to finally sit down at the banquet on Saturday night.  These include our driving tour which Jeff Shively has arranged through scenic Southern Indiana. We will even get across the beautiful Ohio River without paying a toll! 

Our first stop will be at the one-of-a-kind hotel the West Baden Hotel for our private tour. This hotel was the largest unsupported dome structure in the world until the building of the Astro Dome.  We will also make a quick stop nearby at the French Lick Springs Hotel. And when Jeff arranges a tour, you KNOW the lunch will be fantastic.

We will stop at the famous Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth, In.  The view is terrific.  Afterward, Jeff has decided to let us relax and enjoy the countryside of the Hoosier State rather than make a multitude of twists, turns and stops.  We will have an opportunity to visit the original Indiana State Capitol building in Corydon. 

Corydon also has several interesting attractions that are worth a visit. Early Thursday evening, we will take a short venture to Churchill Downs for an evening that includes dinner, racing and a session with a handicapper.  We will have the entire floor of one of the suite areas of the Downs with indoor and outdoor spaces for just our group as well as a chance to get up close to the horses in the paddock. Bring your Kentucky Derby wear and feel like a celeb for the evening.

Friday morning’s big tour is to the Corvette Museum a short drive down I-65 in Bowling Green KY. We will not only tour the museum but have a (seldom-seen) peek into the “back room,” and a tour of the assembly plant. We will be the first car club to visit the museum after its reopening in June 2019. This will be a tour limit of 100 so you’ll have to book early for this one.

Friday evening, we will enjoy a dinner cruise on the Ohio River on the Belle of Louisville, our famous paddle wheeler.  This a southern BBQ on the menu, the sounds of a mellow DJ in the background and the beautiful river scenery, this cruise will be a delight.  Limited to 225 guests, our cruise will sell out fast. Also, during the week, we will enjoy tours to horse parks, distilleries, car collections and quaint towns in both Kentucky and Indiana.  We’ll taste some culinary specialties like the Hot Brown, the Mint Julep, Kentucky Bourbon Balls and Derby Pie. We are looking forward to extending our Hoosier Hospitality a little south of the border as we welcome you to Louisville!
